How are utility charges handled when I move in or move out?

Move-Ins

Utility charges follow the billing cycle of the utility provider, not your rent due date. If you move in during the middle of a billing cycle, your utility charges will be pro-rated based on your actual move-in date.

You will only be billed for the days you lived in the unit—you won’t be charged for any time before your lease started.

Move-Outs

Resident statements are typically generated 15 to 40 days after the utility's billing period ends, depending on the utility provider. This means you may still owe utility charges after your move-out date, covering usage during your final month of residency.

We will generate a final utility statement, and any unpaid utility charges—whether actual or estimated—will be included in the final balance from the property. These charges may be applied to your security deposit or collected separately, depending on the property’s policies.
