What is utility billing and how is my bill calculated?

Modified on Wed, 23 Apr, 2025 at 2:17 PM

Utility billing is the process of allocating utility costs (like water, sewer, electricity, gas, or trash) from the property’s master utility accounts to individual residents.

Your bill reflects your share of these costs, based on the method your property uses—this may include metered usage, a formula based on unit size or occupancy, or a combination of both.

For detailed information about the formula and method use to calculate utility costs at your apartment community, please refer to your lease agreement.
